Milan

Fashion’s Night Out in Milan was also very successful. They say that “there were more people on the streets than when they have a very important football game”. The star of the night was Giorgio Armani, of course. Like the other participating brands, Giorgio Armani was selling specially designed T-shirts at the event, autographed by the attending celebrities. At Milan’s La Rinascente department store, the new Giorgio Armani Idole fragrance testimonial, Kasia Smutniak, made a special appearance.

Moscow

I live in Moscow, but sorry, I ignored this event. I know what “russian glamour” is about and I was sure that it would be another boring, haughty and vain event. It was. I highly recommend to read Linor Goralik’s article about Fashion’s Night Out in Moscow. In short, there was no difference between an ordinary daytime shopping and this super-glamour night event. No special offers (only golden labels “Vogue loves”), no regales (only Soviet fizz), free Mac make-up and fake cover shooting were the only one free amusement, according to Linor’s article. Of course, everybody was excited to see Naomi Campbell trying on John Galliano dress. I suppose, she saved this event having added lustre to it.

Paris

In Paris the Fashion’s Night Out concentrated in the triangle d’or parisien from Avenue Montaigne, Rue François 1er and Avenue George V. The two other countries that only focused on luxury was Russia and Taiwan. ”For the most part, the evening took a super luxe vibe (typically Parisian!)–at Chanel, white-gloved waiters served pastel colored Laduree macarons, while Dior offered Pierre Marcolini chocolates. Over at Valentino, generous glasses of champagne and adorable notebooks made to look like mini Vogue magazines. One of the more colorful boutiques was Manoush, which had outfitted its facade with pink balloons, flowers, and sculptures made of gum drops and taffy. There, I skipped the free cotton candy, but indulged a slightly weird man in a cat costume wandering the store in an awkward exchange of cartoony gestures.”- TeenVogue
